Do you experience difficulty or even pain in the shoulder when trying to:
- Scratch your back
- Unhook your bra
- Zipping your back zipper
- Reaching into back pocket
You might be experiencing shoulder impingement which is caused by injuries or shoulder immobility from a bad posture.
Here are a few self- tests to check whether you have limited shoulder mobility.
- Try reaching your arm to the back , if the shoulder head goes forward , causing a hunched posture this indicates a limitation in your shoulder joint.
2. Stand against the wall and lift arm to shoulder height , with palms facing down rotate your shoulder downwards to touch the wall.
If the palm is unable able to reach to belly button height , or your shoulder head has lift off from the wall before it reaches the belly button, this indicates a limitation in rotation in your shoulder joint.
3. Touch the opposite buttock with your hands, if you are unable to reach to the opposite or experienced pain when reaching across, this indicates a limitation in your shoulder joint.
If you found out most of the test show positive sign. Kindly consult health care professional for further diagnosis and treatment.
